Greetings fromDr. Ritsuko K. Pooh, Director of CRIFM!
Welcome to CRIFM. On behalf of the members of CRIFM, I would like to send this message to every expectant mother and father, as well as anyone who may be interested in the CRIFM world.
What is CRIFM ? An acronym ofClinical Research and Investigation in Fetal Medicine?
True! however, CRIFM has another important meaning:
Communication, Relaxation and Interaction of Fetuses and Mothers.
We CRIFM members always hope that every mother and every fetus in its mother’s warm and comfortable womb can communicate, interact, and relax together. Inside CRIFM’s logo you can see an embryo which is strongly linked to its mother by the umbilical cord.
Since I became an Ob/Gyn doctor in 1990, I have enjoyed the unique beauty of pregnancy through my clinical work with thousands of mothers, fathers, and their fetal patients. I have been, and am still learning from fetuses and their parents, of infinite possibility, of innocent purity, and of love in its most beautiful form.
In 2000, the name of “FETAL DOCK” (Fetal thorough medical ultrasound check up system) was given to the original ‘Pooh-style’ of a fetal evaluation. Graduates of FETAL DOCK in 2000 are now entering elementary school. FETAL DOCK 2007 is done using the most up-to-date, dedicated state-of-the-art technology, and its sophisticated images are quite different from FETAL DOCK in 2000, owing to recent remarkable advances in imaging technology and the progress of myself, as an examiner.
At CRIFM, through the accurate and objective imaging diagnosis, my coworkers and I value the communication with fetuses and their parents. We would like to continue our ‘Pooh-style’ of practice, bringing parents peace, calmness, delight and joy - instead of anxiety or sorrow; feeling their wonderful, innocent and precious babies in utero - shedding tears of happiness together with family.
